As per CoinGecko, the meme coin narrative captured a cumulative 30.67% of the worldwide investor interest throughout the key meme coin narrative. Hence, nearly a third of the wider cryptocurrency narrative interest captured speculative opportunities amid the market’s rapid expansion from dog-themed meme tokens to other meme coins.
Specifically, the meme-coin narrative witnessed the 1st rank with an overall 14.36% of the total cryptocurrency narrative interest. The respective scenario denotes a 6.04 increase ratio from the 8.32% proportion of interest seen last year. CoinGecko has revealed the report to the crypto community through its official page.
Meme Coins 1st Rank Among the Crypto Narratives Throughout 2024
CoinGecko mentioned that the meme-coin narrative secured the 1st position in the cryptocurrency narrative interest. Apart from that overall meme coin narrative, 4 prominent meme coin trends obtained ranks among the top twenty cryptocurrency narratives. Particularly, Solana meme tokens received the 4th position by securing a 7.65% portion of the broader narrative interest. Additionally, Base meme tokens occupied the 11th rank with a 2.13% portion. Apart from that, AI meme coins took the 15th place by accounting for 1.49%. However, cat-themed meme tokens stood in the 16th spot with a 1.19% interest.
AI Coins Occupy the 2nd Place
In line with CoinGecko’s ranking, the artificial intelligence narrative emerged as another cryptocurrency narrative. It represented 15.67% of the entire investor interest throughout the AI narrative as well as five other narratives related to AI. Hence, the AI narrative witnessed the 2nd position in ranking during 2024. Irrespective of the 1.26% spike from the 11.32% interest share of the last year, the AI narrative has seen a decline.
DePIN and RWA Narratives Cement 3rd Position
Real-world assets as well as DePIN narratives also gained a noteworthy surge among the cryptocurrency narratives as compared with 2023. The RWA narrative recorded a 2.16% jump from 6.48% back in 2023 to reach 8.64% this year. Thus, its popularity ranking increased from 13th rank to 8th rank. Nevertheless, the GameFi narrative minimized with a 6.77% dip from 2023’s 10.49% to reach only 3.72%.
Solana Ecosystem Stands at the 5th Spot in Popular Narratives
In the meme coins, 14.30% share under Solana-related narratives places it near the AI narrative in the case of popularity. Along with that, the investors continued showing interest in the wider Solana ecosystem which got the 5th rank among the most popular narratives. It reportedly enjoyed 5.78% of the entire investor interest. Nonetheless, the Base ecosystem along with Base meme tokens narratives denoted a 4.87% proportion of the investor interest.
