Flare Network, which enables off-chain data to be accessed, just introduced Luminite, a lightweight, non-custodial wallet designed to make DeFi accessible particularly to XRP users and new cryptocurrency holders. Luminite is designed to break down the entry barriers that have been in place before.
It sidesteps the hassle of complex seed phrases, with an effortless sign-up that closely mirrors typical Web2 log-in processes.
Supported by Turnkey’s in-wallet functionality, Luminite allows users to create a wallet in just a few seconds using passkeys, biometrics, or email. The feature gives users full control of their assets and yet maintains the ease of use of traditional fintech platforms.
For easier use, the wallet supports fiat on-ramps using partners such as Topper, allowing users to directly purchase assets like FLR, XRP, and other supported tokens.
“Our vision with Luminite is to make DeFi approachable for everyone, not just crypto-native users,” said Steve Chadwick, Co-founder of Luminite. “We’ve focused on removing friction and enabling access to the Flare ecosystem with just a few clicks.”
Aside from onboarding, Luminite also offers a direct gateway to numerous fundamental DeFi operations on Flare. Users can offload FLR to FTSO (Flare Time Series Oracle) data providers, mint FXRP via the FAssets platform, exchange tokens, bridge assets through Stargate, and even participate in liquid staking with sFLR on Sceptre all within the same app.
With Flare’s DeFi ecosystem expanding on both user activity and TVL (Total Value Locked), Luminite emerges as a focal point for novice users and seasoned professionals in search of seamless entry into the platform’s collection of decentralized services.
Its intuitive approach combines robust functionality with an experience that mirrors well-known traditional finance apps.
Looking to the future, Flare has confirmed a Learn & Earn collaboration with Revolut, which will teach users about the Flare ecosystem while incentivizing them for completing educational tasks and platform use.
“The initial few minutes of DeFi shouldn’t be daunting,” commented Max Luck, Head of Growth at Flare. “Luminite makes those moments feel comfortable, without compromising control or decentralization.”
Luminite is now live at luminite.app, offering a simplified entry point for users seeking to explore DeFi on Flare.
