The Graph, the decentralized protocol for blockchain data, has unveiled Geo Genesis, a new application designed to bring web3 knowledge sharing to the masses.
Geo Genesis is The Graph’s (GRT) solution that will empower communities to decentralize knowledge sharing, the platform said in a press release shared with crypto.news.
Regardless of technical expertise, users will be able to manage, share, and govern knowledge through collaborative hubs known as “Spaces.”
The protocol’s introduction of Geo Genesis follows the launch of its GRC-20 data standard, a framework for unified knowledge graphs. Key benefits of this standard include interoperability, adaptability, and composability, with a consumer-friendly design that enables knowledge creation and management directly on the GRT network.
Geo Genesis focuses on driving community engagement around knowledge-based applications rather than asset-centric ones. To encourage collaboration across the ecosystem, the application includes built-in governance tools for users through Spaces.
The Graph’s innovative app is built on the modular Aragon OSx framework. Geo emphasizes accessibility, targeting usability for a broad range of users. By making the platform available to everyone, Geo aims to foster contributions to web3 social growth.
According to The Graph, Geo Genesis is currently available for early access. It will feature a default governance process involving two roles: Editors and Members. Editors will hold governance votes, while Members will contribute to a Space. Request invites are available during the early access phase for those interested in joining and creating Spaces.
The first examples of knowledge graphs will include an initial group of Editors curating crypto news to demonstrate how knowledge graphs can help structure news stories and related facts.
Geo Genesis enhances The Graph’s growth trajectory. Launched in 2018 as a blockchain data indexing protocol, The Graph has seen rapid adoption across the ecosystem, with developers deploying subgraphs on more than 80 blockchains, including Ethereum, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Optimism and Base.
